Shawntele Green is the Co-Founder/CEO of Star Automotive LLC, a full-service repair and maintenance center. Providing a valuable service at a reasonable cost, Star Automotive, is known for caring, maintaining and meeting the needs of vehicles, through complete automotive repair.
Shawntele has a diverse background in business that has prepared her to stand out in the world of Auto Repair & Maintenance. Partnering with her husband, Gary Green, Shawntele has carved a niche in that industry by offering free diagnostics and specialized care for vintage autos on the Westbank of New Orleans, LA.
Born in Marion County, Indiana, Shawntele moved to Jefferson Parish with her family as a child and would never consider leaving her adopted home. She attended Holy Cross and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Business Administration, before working for American Income Life Insurance Company in her first office administration position. Her vivacious personality soon landed her a managerial position with Weiner’s Stores, Inc., a regional clothing chain.
Shawntele re-married in 1998 to her husband Gary Green became a stay-at-home mom and homeschooled their two daughters until they went to college.
Shawntele’s desire to own a business created Gary’s Auto Service, a mobile mechanic business. For 12 years, Gary and Shawntele managed Gary’s Auto Service and traveled all over Louisiana. As they saw their business flourish, they knew more could be achieved. With that in mind, they moved to their first building in 2008 and were there for 10 years until they moved into their current building in 2018.
Shawntele is the past VP of Membership for the American Business Women Association, Business Networking International Director Consultant, and a Board Member of The New Orleans Regional Black Chamber Of Commerce.
In addition to the successful automotive repair business, and a close-knit family, Shawntele enjoys reading and studying, bowling, skating, dancing and runway modelling. Her true passion, however, is helping people become all that they can.
